Spain aim to top Group A at U-21 EUROs
Cristhian Mosquera, César Tárrega, Javi Guerra and Diego López target victory against Italy
Valencia CF coach Marcelino had expressed his confidence in Gonçalo Guedes in his pre-match press conference before the game against Girona, and it did not take long for the Portuguese to prove him right.
Guedes opened the scoring at Montilivi just 13 minutes in, reading a slick pass into space by Rodrigo and beating Girona goalkeeper Bono. It was his first goal of the season, and the first for him since May 20th, 2018, against Deportivo La Coruña on the final day of the last campaign.
The midfielder continued to cause problems for the opposition, and enjoyed several chances, before he was taken off on 72 minutes to adjust the team to the sending off of Facundo Roncaglia.
